With frequent reports of unemployed youths being duped by fraudsters on the pretext of jobs in the railway department often cropping up, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has cautioned aspirants not to fall victim to such scams.

“It has come to the knowledge of Railway administration that some websites have published a notice claiming that the Indian Railways Protection Force (RPF) is recruiting RPF personnel for Constable Recruitment Examination, 2022. This also went viral on different Social Media platforms,” the ECoR said in a statement.

“On the fact check by Railways and Press Information Bureau it has seen that this is completely fake and no such recruitment advertisement/notice has been published by the RPF or Railways,” it added.

Appealing job aspirants not to fall in the claws of touts promising to provide job in Railways, the ECoR said several cases of such frauds have come to the knowledge of Railway administration in recent times.

“Innocent people are being cheated by the racketeers luring jobs in Railways despite several steps taken by the Railways to control the tout menace,” it said.

“It has been reiterated that don’t fall prey to touts, brokers and racketeers to get a Railway job and save your hard-earned money. Get a job through merit and hard work. The Railway Board or Railway Recruitment Board or the Railway Ministry never nominates any agent or an outsourcing agency for recruitment,” the ECoR maintained.

The ECoR has advised aspirants to always check the official websites of Railway Recruitment Boards, Railway Recruitment Cells and follow advertisements published by the Boards in Newspapers and in Employment News only and follow the official websites of Railways.

“If anybody asks for bribe promising to provide you a job in Railways or if you have any information of corruption or you are a victim of the above, please inform on Vigilance Helpline Number 8455885031,” it added
