Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) has announced a recruitment drive to fill 45 vacancies for the post of Technician (Grade-II) in the Workmen Grade-III (WG-III) category. Candidates must have completed Matriculation or SSC along with an ITI Certificate (National Trade Certificate). In addition, they should either possess a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) or have acquired at least one year of relevant work experience in the respective trade.
Applicants must be no older than 27 years as on April 30, 2025. Relaxation in the upper age limit applies as follows: SC/ST is 5 years, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) is 3 years, PwD it is 10 years, and for Ex-Servicemen, years of service plus 3 years, and contract labourers currently serving in ECIL is up to 40 years.
The selection process comprises two stages:
Computer-Based Test (CBT) – 85% weightage
Duration: 120 minutes
Questions: 100 multiple-choice questions
Languages: English, Hindi, and Telugu
Negative marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer
Trade Test – 15% weightage
Only candidates shortlisted in a 1:4 ratio based on CBT scores will be called
To qualify, candidates must secure at least 50% marks in each stage and an aggregate of 60% overall. Relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
The application process is strictly online via the ECIL website. The application fee is Rs 750 for General, EWS, and OBC candidates. SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen and ECIL employees are exempt from the fee. Payment must be made via SBI Collect, either online or offline.
Candidates appearing for the trade test will be reimbursed sleeper class train fare. However, local travel costs will not be covered.
