The DRDO Young Scientists’ Laboratory For Smart Materials (DYSL-SM) has invited applications form eligible candidates for the position of four (4) Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) to work on several projects.

According to a notification issued by DYSL-SM, the selected candidates will work in the areas of materials informatics and computational materials modelling for accelerated material discovery and application of smart materials to micro-robotics and stealth technologies.

Essential Qualification

For Metallurgical/ Material Science Engineering, the candidate must possess B.E./B.Tech degree with First Class in Metallurgical Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering and a valid GATE score (OR) M.E./ M.Tech with First Class in Metallurgical Engineering/ Materials Science and Engineering (and first class B.E/B.Tech in the same subject).

Similarly for Mechanical Engineering, the candidate must have B.E./B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering with First Class with a valid GATE score (OR) M.E./M.Tech with First class in Mechatronics / Robotics & Automation and B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with First class.

Fellowship Emoluments: 

Rs. 31,000 per month for JRF with applicable H.R.A. and other emoluments as per DRDO rules. 

Tenure: 

The post is temporary in nature and the initial tenure is of two years. Subsequent upgradation to SRF grade is as per DRDO guidelines. 

Age Limit: 

The age limit for JRF is maximum of 28 years as on the date of application. The age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates or as per the government guidelines. A copy of self-attested caste certificate should be attached with the application.
