The Chandigarh Police Department has issued a notification for the recruitment of Constable (Executive) (IT) positions. 

Eligible candidates are invited to submit their applications online through the official website of Chandigarh Police at chandigarhpolice.gov.in. 

This recruitment initiative aims to fill a total of 144 vacancies within the organization. 

The registration process commences today, January 23, and concludes on February 12, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the post, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree (minimum 3 years) or a Master's degree (minimum 2 years) in the fields specified in the Detailed Notification. The educational qualification requirement is detailed in the notification.

In terms of age, the eligibility criteria vary based on the category. For General category candidates, the age limit is between 18 and 25 years. OBC candidates should fall within the age bracket of 18 to 28 years, while SC candidates have an age limit of 18 to 30 years.

Selection Process

The selection process comprises an OMR Sheet-based test, which is divided into Tier-I and Tier-II. Both Tier-I and Tier-II tests, with durations of 2 hours and 1 hour respectively, will be conducted in a single session. The Tier-I Test is designed to carry a total of 100 marks. Following the written test, candidates who qualify will be shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency and Measurement Test (PEMT). The shortlisting will be done at a rate of 10 times the number of vacancies for each category, arranged in merit order based on the cumulative marks obtained in Tier I and Tier II. Successful candidates in the written test will be invited for the PEMT as part of the subsequent stages in the selection process.

Application Fee

The application fee for the unreserved and OBC categories is Rs 1000, while for SC and EWS categories, it is Rs 800. Candidates are advised that any collection charges or processing fees imposed by the bank or intermediary are not included in the application fee and are to be borne additionally by the applicants. These charges are payable to Chandigarh Police in conjunction with the specified application fees.
