The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday invited job applications for several positions including the Head Coach from eligible candidates.

The positions include, Head Coach (Team India - Senior Men), Batting Coach (Team India - Senior Men), Bowling Coach (Team India - Senior Men), Fielding Coach (Team India - Senior Men), Head Sports Science/Medicine with National Cricket Academy (NCA)

The apex body of Indian cricket floated a media advisory in this connection.

It has set a deadline of 5 PM on October 26, 2021 before which the applications of the position of Head Coach (Team India - Senior Men) should reach at headcoach@bcci.tv.

As per the BCCI, the job description for the said position is as follows:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a world class Indian cricket team which delivers sustained success in all conditions and formats, inspiring current and future generations of cricketers and stakeholders with their approach to the game.

The Head Coach will have overall responsibility for the performance and management of the India Men’s team in all three forms of the game.

The Head Coach will lead a team of specialist coaches and support staff and will be responsible for defining their roles, their performance and ongoing development.

He will be responsible for reviewing, maintaining, and enforcing the disciplinary codes within the India Men’s team.

The Head Coach will work with the Head of National Cricket Academy to formulate a developmental plan for the upskilling of players who are not a part of the national team as and when possible.

The Head Coach, in conjunction with Head Cricket NCA will formulate a policy for development of players, which is to be communicated to all first-class teams, so that the first class coaches are aware of the parameters required to succeed at the international level.

Observe players in elite competitions with the National Selectors and provide strategic inputs with respect to selection wherever required.

The Head Coach will Provid support and advice in the development of a cricket pathway, oversee the workload management plans and set KPIs for respective support staff verticals.

Similarly, applications for the position of Batting Coach, Bowling Coach, (Team India -Senior Men) should be submitted by 5 PM on November 03, 2021 at battingcoach@bcci.tv & bowlingcoach@bcci.tv respectively.

Likewise, the applications for the position of Fielding Coach (Team India -Senior Men) and Head Sports Science and Medicine with NCA should be submitted by 5 PM on November 03, 2021 at fieldingcoach@bcci.tv and at sportsscienceandmedicine@bcci.tv respectively.

All applicants have been instructed to mention the position title in the subject of their mail.

It is worthwhile to mention here that batting stalwart Rahul Dravid will mostly take over as the national cricket team's head coach following the T20 World Cup in the UAE, having agreed to the BCCI's offer after initial reluctance.

"Yes, Rahul has agreed to coach the Indian team till 2023 World Cup. Initially, he was reluctant but it is understood that president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah had a meeting with Rahul on the sidelines of the IPL final where they were able to convince him," a BCCI official told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
