The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has issued an important notice for candidates ahead of the written examination for the recruitment of Group-B Assistant Section Officer (ASO) in the State Secretariat.

The ASO written examination for 796 posts will be held on August 21, 2022 at different educational institutions in 30 districts and three sub-divisions in the State. 

In its latest notice, the OPSC informed that any kind of digital and manual wrist watches will not be allowed inside the examination.

"It is for information of all concerned that any kind of digital and manual wrist watches will not be allowed since there will be wall-clock installed in every Examination room of the Centre for conduct of written examination on 21.08.2022 (Sunday), for recruitment to the post of Assistant Section Officer," the government recruiting body said.

"All the candidates are strictly advised not to wear any kind of wrist watches while appearing the Assistant Section Officer Examination," it added. 

As per the schedule, the examination will consist of three papers--Paper I General Awareness, Paper II Test of reasoning and mental ability and mathematics and Paper III Language (Odia and English). There will be three sittings- 9 am-10.30 am, 11.30-1 pm and 2.30-4.30 pm.

"The Roll nos. of the provisionally admitted candidates, venue of examination centre, Admission Certificate and Instruction to Candidates to be downloaded by the candidate will be available in the website of the Commission at (www.opsc.gov.in) later on. The eligible candidates are advised to visit the websitc of the commission regularly for update," the OPSC had said.
