Are you preparing for a bank job? If yes, then you need to maintain a 'healthy' Cibil score to be eligible for the job.

A recent notification issued by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) for the recruitment of clerks mandated a healthy credit history.

The notification says candidates applying shall ensure that they maintain a healthy credit history and shall have a minimum CIBIL score of 650 or above at the time of joining of participating banks.

The minimum credit score will be as per the policy of participating banks, amended from time to time.

“Those candidates whose CIBIL status has not been updated before the date of joining, have to either get the CIBIL status updated or produce the NOCs from the lender to the effect that there is no outstanding with respect to the accounts adversely reflected in the CIBIL, failing which the letter of offer may be withdrawn/cancelled,” the notification said.

However, the final discretion in this regard remains with the allotted Bank.

The IBPS says that candidates with no bank account shall not be required to produce the CIBIL status. It further clarifies that the CIBIL score requirement is not a pre-condition to apply.

Notably, as many as 11 banks are participating in the recruitment process for the selection of suitable candidates for 4545 posts of clerk.

The online registration process has already commenced on July 1 and will continue till July 27, 2023.
