Educational Qualification
Applicants for the position of Senior Residents (Non-Academic) must meet specific qualifications. Firstly, they should possess a medical qualification as outlined in the first or second schedule or Part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act 1956. Those with qualifications listed in Part II of the third schedule must also fulfill the conditions specified in Section 13(3) of the Act. Additionally, registration with the Central/State Medical Council is obligatory. Furthermore, candidates must hold a postgraduate degree such as MD/MS/DNB/MDS or DM, MCH in the relevant specialty or its equivalent. Non-Medical candidates are required to have an MSc. in the respective subject and a Ph.D. from a recognized university. For applicants in the Department of Pathology, possessing an MD in Pathology or MD in Lab Medicine is essential.
Age Limit
Regarding eligibility criteria, the upper age limit for applying for these positions is set at 45 years as of the interview date. However, there are relaxations available for certain categories of candidates. SC/ST candidates are eligible for relaxation of up to five years. OBC candidates can avail relaxation for up to three years. Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) candidates are entitled to relaxation for a maximum of ten years for General Category, thirteen years for OBC category, and fifteen years for SC/ST category candidates.
