The Indian Air Force (IAF) has issued a notification inviting applications for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT 01/2024). 

As of December 1, the application process is open, and interested candidates have until December 30 to submit their applications. 

To apply for the AFCAT 2023, candidates can visit the official website at afcat.cdac.in.

  • Total Vacancy (Women (SSC)): 16 posts

Branch: Ground Duty (Non-Technical)

  • Total Vacancy (Men (SSC)): 98 posts 

  • Total Vacancy (Women (SSC)): 16 posts

NCC Special Entry

  • Branch: Flying

  • Total Vacancy: 10% of seats

Educational Qualification

Applicants aspiring to join the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Non-Technical) of the Indian Air Force are required to possess a three-year Bachelor's degree. Alternatively, candidates holding a BE/BTech degree from a recognised university are also eligible for these branches. 

For those interested in the Ground Duty (Technical - Aeronautical Engineering Electronics) branch, a Graduate or Postgraduate Degree in Engineering and Technology from a recognised University is necessary. 

Age Limit

For the Flying Branch, candidates should be between 20 to 24 years old as of January 1, 2025, meaning they must have been born between January 2, 2001, and January 1, 2005 (inclusive of both dates).

For the Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) Branches, the age requirement is 20 to 26 years as of January 1, 2025. Therefore, candidates for these branches must have been born between January 2, 1999, and January 1, 2005 (inclusive of both dates).

Application Fee

The examination fee for candidates is ₹550, which serves as the registration fee. It's important to note that individuals registering for the NCC Special Entry are exempt from this fee.

  • On the homepage, locate and select the AFCAT 01/2024 application link

  • Register on the website and proceed to initiate the application process

  • Complete the application form by providing the required details, uploading necessary documents, and making the necessary fee payment

  • After successfully filling in the details and making the payment, submit the application form

  • It is advisable to take a printout of the submitted application for future reference
