Amid the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, another Indian MBBS student stranded in the war-torn country lost his life on Wednesday after suffering a cardiac arrest.

As per reports, the deceased student has been identified as Chandan Jindal (22). He was a native of Punjab.

Sources said Jindal was undergoing treatment at a hospital in an Ukrainian city after suffering cardiac arrest. He passed away today.

It is pertinent to mention here that a 21-year-old Indian student, Naveen Shekharappa from Chalageri village in Karnataka's Haveri district, was killed on in Russian shelling in the city of Kharkiv on Tuesday.

A number of Indians are still stranded in Kharkiv where Russia has launched a major military offensive.

Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force has sent three flights to bring back stranded Indians from the countries bordering Ukraine, Vice Chief Air Marshal Sandeep Singh said on Wednesday.

The officer said that three C-17 Globemasters have been sent as of now. "Relief materials are also being sent. The operation is underway in coordination with the MEA," he said.
