Bhubaneswar: In order to streamline and strengthen quality public health service delivery to the people of the State, Odisha Health and Family Welfare Department is going to implement OeHMIS (Odisho e- Hospital Management Information System) in all Government Medical Colleges.

The management system will also be implemented at Acharya Harihar Post Graduate Institute of Cancer and Sishu Bhawan in Cuttack, Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar, 31 District Headquarters Hospitals and 106 Urban primary health centres (PHCs) of the State.

“This digital technology-enabled solution which will boost public health core and administration is a part of 5T initiative of Government and also under the "Sustha Odisha-Sukhi Odisha" vision of the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik,” said a government statement.

The main objective of the project, as stated by the department is to streamline the treatment flow of the patients in the hospitals while allowing doctors and other staff to perform as per their peak ability in an optimized and efficient manner.

It will also help in decision support system of the hospital authorities for developing comprehensive health care policies.

The project will cover various health services as patient registration, emergency registration, patient enquiry, patient billing, ADT (Bed Management), OPD with order management, IPD management system, investigation of lab, MRD, OT & Anaesthesia, laundry, BMED, diet kitchen, Transport and CSSD.

“Government has already earmarked 163.38 Crores for successful implementation of the project in the State. After functionalization of the project in the designated hospitals, I am sure this will boost quality public health service and overall administration of hospital and optimum utilization of doctors, staff towards dispensing service delivery,” the government statement added.
