At a time when the diarrhoea situation in Hirakud is said to be still grim with more patients being admitted to the Hirakud Community Health Centre (CHC), a two-member medical team reached the place on Sunday to take stock of the situation.

After reaching Hirakud, the team visited Hirakud CHC to take stock of the situation and carry out tests of collected water samples.

Meanwhile, the residents expressed concerns about the condition of the drinking water pipes laid out by the Public Health Department.

While the pipes have developed cracks and are leaking at some places, in other places the pipe points are found to be submerged in drain water, informed sources.
