Putting an end to the confusion over the continuation of the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) launched by the previous BJD government, Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling on Saturday clarified that the yojana will continue for the time being.
People will continue to avail of benefits at all government and private hospitals under the BSKY. A total of 96.50 lakh BPL and APL families are getting benefits under the BSKY. The government is providing cashless treatment facilities to the people. The Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana will be implemented in phases, said the Minister.

“I would like to clarify it that the existing BSKY will continue to be in use till the implementation of the Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana,” said the Minister.
“The existing BSKY has been in use. At the same time, people will get a Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana card. As you know, our vote-on -account for two months was passed on July 30. Our Appropriation Bill will pass on September 10. Thereafter, the Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana will be implemented in a phased manner,” he informed.
