Avoid foods with high Glycemic Index

The first step to avoiding sugar spikes and cravings is by choosing foods with low glycemic index and load. Foods with high glycemic index raise blood sugar immediately and this sudden spike leads to a crash which once again triggers sugar cravings. Avoiding sugary snacks and beverages that are high in glycemic index and replacing them with fruits and nuts with low glycemic index help to curb sugar cravings.

Add more vegetables to your diet

Most vegetables have a low glycemic index and are rich in fiber. That is why the sugar in vegetables is absorbed very slowly by the body. Including different varieties of vegetables with different colours like green leafy vegetables, carrots, bell peppers and more can help to keep the sugar cravings at bay.

Adding it to marinades, salad dressings, or toppings or drinking it by adding water and diluting it can be beneficial.

Regular exercise is a must

Physical exercise is very important for maintaining blood sugar levels. Regular workout in the gym is extremely good. But if you cannot manage that, even a brisk walk for 15 minutes can curb your sugar cravings.
