After much hue and cry, the uncertainty over the conduct of annual Sital Sasthi Jatra of Lord Lingaraj in Bhubaneswar has gone after the administration assured the servitors of Lord Kapilanth to discuss their demands.

According to sources, the Khuntia and Malia servitors of Lord Kapilanth agreed to perform the necessary rituals of the divine marriage following a discussion with Bhubaneswar Sub Collector Satyabrata Sahoo.
Lord Kapilanth will be taken to Lingaraj temple today and later the marriage procession will head towards Kedara Gouri temple, sources informed.

Notably, the ‘Mangan’ ritual was cancelled on Friday due to non-cooperation between Brahman and Puja Panda nijogs pushing the celebration of the divine marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, scheduled for today, into uncertainty.

The nijogs have attributed the cause of their non-coperation to non-fulfilment of theri various demands related with land issue and face-off between the servitors of Lord Lingaraj and Lord Kapilnath.
