The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Saturday released a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and revised price list for the sale of parts used in the construction of the chariots used during the annual Rath Yatra.

As per the new SOP, the wheel of Lord Jagannath’s Nandighosha chariot each is priced at Rs 3 lakh. The wheel of Lord Balabhadra’s Taladhwaja chariot is set at Rs 2 lakh, while that of Goddess Subhadra’s Darpadalana chariot will cost Rs 1.5 lakh each.

Among other components, the Guja and Ansuari parts are priced at Rs 15,000 each, and the Prabha is priced at Rs 25,000.

Purchasing a complete set of chariot wheels from all three chariots will cost around Rs 6 lakh.

Interested buyers must apply to the temple administration by September 15, along with an application fee of Rs 1000. Once selected, applicants will be informed, and they must deposit the full amount within a week. If an applicant fails to deposit the amount within the stipulated time,  the next eligible applicant will be considered.

This move is part of the temple’s systematic approach in managing and preserving the sacred materials associated with the Puri Rath Yatra, while also ensuring transparency and order in their distribution.
