For the Bahuda Yatra preparations of Lord Jagannath and his siblings, the Nabami Sandhya Darshan of the deities on the Adapa Mandap at Gundicha temple will be restricted from 5 pm on June 27.  The Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Ranjan Kumar Das informed this on Saturday.

During the Nabami Sandhya Darshan, devotees will have the last chance of offering prayers to the deities on the Adapa Mandap as the sibling deities will return to their abode the next day.

“The Sandhya Darshan of the deities will be allowed till 5pm as the next day is Bahuda Yatra. The darshan of the deities will start from 7 am and continue till 5pm,” said Das.

“Since the Sandhya Darshan will remain suspended from 5pm, the devotees are being requested to come before 5pm and have a darshan of the deities,” said Ramkrushna Dasmohapatra, secretary, Daitapati Nijog.

On the other hand, the ‘Dakshina Moda’ ritual will be observed tomorrow.

Since Rath Yatra, the three chariots parked in front of Gundicha temple are facing north. For the return journey, the chariots are required to be turned south toward the Jagannath Temple. So the ritual gets its name ‘Dakshina Moda or southward turn.

Ahead of the ‘Dakshina Moda’ ritual, the chief carpenter of Lord Jagannath’s chariot Nandighosha, Bijay Mahapatra and chief Kamara servitor Dasarathi Maharana inspected the chariot today. According to Das, a U-Clamp will be fitted to the axle connecting the rear wheels.
