Mrunal Manmay Dash

Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra stepped onto the Adapa Mandapa inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Gundicha temple in Puri on Saturday.

After the sandhya dhupa ritual, the deities were taken inside the temple in a ceremonial procession. A similar pahandi bije ritual of the deities was performed as was done when the deities were brought outside the Srimandira before Rath Yatra.

After servitors installed Lord Ramkrushna, Lord Madanmohan and Lord Sudarshan on the Adapa Mandapa, goti pahandi of Lord Balabhadra from Taladhwaja Rath, Goddess Subhadra from Debadalana and Lord Jagannath from Nandighosha were performed.

Meanwhile, a large congregation of devotees was witnessed near the Gundicha Temple right from the wee hours on Saturday to avail darshan of deities placed atop their thrones on chariots.

However, due to security reasons, people were barred to touch the chariots which have been put under cordon and tight police protection.

Pertinent to mention here that, the devotees can relish the chance to avail Adapa Abadha, the special prasad prepared during the week-long stay of the deities at the Gundicha Temple from Sunday. Similarly, public darshan will also be allowed into the Gundicha Temple from tomorrow.
