The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration allowed the opening of Srimandir’s West Gate (Paschima Dwara) in Puri from Friday.
All the devotees will now be allowed to get entry into the temple through the West Gate apart from the Lion’s Gate (Singha Dwara).
Meanwhile, arrangement has been made for the exit of the devotees through Hastidwara, the elephant gate in the North and Ashvadwara, the horse’s gate in the south.
“All the devotees can now have the darshan of the Trinity at Srimandir through West door. They should leave their shoes and mobiles at the stand set up by the administration before entering the temple through Paschima Dwara,” said Puri Sub-Collector Bhabatarana Sahu.
The devotees were ecstatic after the opening of the West door.
“I got a smooth darshan of Lord Jagannath through Paschima Dwara. I feel myself so fortunate and blessed,” said a devotee.
As per reports, keeping in view of the opening of chariot construction on occasion of Akshaya Tritiya on May 3, the administration has eased out the ‘Darshan’ arrangement for the devotees. It became possible due to the removal of barricades from the Grand Road (Bada Danda).
A decision in this regard had been taken during a high-level Srimandir management committee meeting held under the chairmanship of Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb on last Friday. The meeting also witnessed discussion on different matters along with a major focus on the arrangements for the upcoming Ratha Jatra.
