Odisha’s first devotional channel, Prarthana observed its 13th anniversary on the auspicious occasion of Maha Bisuba Sankranti today. To mark the occasion, Hanuman Utsav was hosted by the channel in a grand way at Cuttack’s Bali Yatra ground.

During the daytime, recitations of Ramayana’s Sundarkand and Hanuman Chalisa were done. Later, in the day, a health competition including participants under junior and senior categories was organized.

Moreover, 'Paika Akhada,' 'Mallakhamba' and traditional 'Sankirtan' programmes were held. 

Along with the live show of Prarthana channel's popular programme Bhajan Antakhyari, the visitors also enjoyed an array of traditional delicacies including 'pitha' among others. 

“Lord Hanuman is the symbol of good health with extreme strength. We bring those emotions, beliefs and practices together to celebrate Hanuman Utsav. With Mallakhamba, we have made arrangements for traditional wrestling at the event. Moreover, we have set up training centres for Ayurvedic treatment as well as Yoga,” said Ranjan Satpathy, Creative Head of Odisha Television Network.
