Odisha declares holiday on September 9 for Nuakhai

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Thursday declared September 9 as a holiday for the celebration of Nuakhai, an agrarian festival specially observed in the western parts of Odisha.

This year, the mass festival of the state, Nuakhai is on September 8, and as it is a Sunday, the government announced September 9 as a holiday as well.

On this day, all government offices, magisterial courts and educational institutions will remain closed.
