  • Today most of the women in the world are aware of their rights, are enjoying the privileges of modern life,
  • Even then a certain section of society continues to degrade and treat women in a very negative way.

Girls have faced inequality for centuries together. Although there have been instances in Indian and global history where a few legendary women claimed equal respect and status as men, such examples are very rare. From fighting for equality to reducing dependency on men financially, women have come a long way. And that is the result of a long fight that continued for ages to eradicate such inequality and help women emerge as equal partners in every part of life.

To emphasize the importance of girls in this world and their equal contribution, National Girl Child Day is celebrated every year on January 24. The aim is to bring more growth and evolution in this thought process so that every girl feels happy, and secure and enjoys the life of her dreams.

Women have come a long way but...

Today most of the women in the world are aware of their rights, are enjoying the privileges of modern life, and pursuing their dreams happily. Now that they are getting the chance at par with every other person in this world, they have proved that they can be at the top and be the best in every field.

From being a topmost athlete and clinching medals for the country, earning high accolades for science and technology internationally, to working as CEOs and founders of renowned companies, women indeed are proving their mettle. Be it Mary Kom or Saina Nehwal to Indra Nooyi or Gita Gopinath, these women have proved that women can do everything and hence should not be treated as secondary.

Despite all these truths, there is also one ugly side that makes one feel shameful. While there is a part of India that has awakened and given women their due respect, freedom, and dignity, there exists a certain section of the society that continues to degrade and treat women in a very negative way. That is why through programs such as events organised on National Girl Child Day, the message about equality and giving women their respect needs to be emphasised repeatedly.
