India will complete her 75 years of achieving independence from the British Raj on Monday, the 15th of August, 2022.

The national holiday is set to be celebrated with full patriotic zeal across the country at the smallest units of gram panchayat to the ramparts of the Red Fort.

Ahead of the momentous day, the government has already kicked off the jubilations with Har Ghar Tiranga initiative to touch each and every household with the essence of the Independence Day and helped wrap the entire country in the colours of the national flag, the Tricolour.

Apart from flag hoisting which is the most important ritual of the day, several cultural events and functions will mark the celebrations both at the Red Fort and at the state level. Here’s the detail:

PM Modi will be welcomed with Guard of Honour by the Armed Forces and the Delhi Police.

Firing of a 21-gun ceremonial salute.

Showering of flower petals by the helicopters of the Indian Air Force

This apart, the celebration of I-Day ceremony/hoisting of the National flag at district headquarters, state capitals, gram panchayat, sub-division, blocks, and villages should begin after 9 am
