Independence Day preparations in final stages in Bhubaneswar; Commander Ananya Abasti to lead state-level parade
With the 79th Independence Day just days away, the entire nation is buzzing with preparations, and Odisha is no exception. From the national capital Delhi to Bhubaneswar, arrangements for the grand celebrations are in the final stages.
In Odisha, the focus is on Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar, where the state-level celebrations will take place. Today, a full-dress rehearsal was held to ensure a flawless performance on August 15.
The rehearsal featured contingents from the Border Security Force (BSF), Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF), and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), alongside school students. In total, 50 contingents are participating in the parade practice.
Adding colour and energy to the event, this year’s parade will showcase four police bands as well as four school bands, each ready to impress spectators with their rhythmic beats and synchronised moves.
Leading the state-level Independence Day parade is Contingent Commander Ananya Abasti, who will guide the marching contingents with precision and discipline.
Security, traffic management, and seating arrangements have been finalised by the administration to ensure a smooth and safe celebration. Large crowds are expected to gather on August 15 to witness the grand parade and cultural displays, marking yet another proud chapter in India’s journey of freedom.
