After a gap of almost two years, the devotees can now have darshan of Lord Jagannath during Snana Purnima on the Snana Bedi. The decision to allow devotees was taken at the crucial Srimandir Managing Committee meeting held on Tuesday.

The devotees can have darshan of the deities on the Snana Bedi for almost three hours. However, the devotees will not be allowed to touch the deities.

The Puri Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Chief Administrator Vir Vikram Yadav said, “All the rituals and arrangements upto Niladri Bije were finalised at the crucial meeting of the Srimandir Managing Committee meeting held today.”

Yadav further informed that steps are being taken to ensure that the devotees can have darshan of the deities and Snana Purnima rituals through live telecast of the event.

“At the meeting, discussions were held on various aspects and arrangements so that devotees can have good darshan of the deities,” Yadav added.

Durga Das Mohapatra, a member of the Srimandir Managing Committee, said, “The devotees can have darshan of the deities for three hours on Snana Bedi after the completion of Hati Besha. However, the devotees cannot touch the deities.”
