While the preparations for the historic Bali Yatra have reached the final stage, the Cuttack district administration on Wednesday began on-spot booking of non allotted plots for the trade fair.
The traders, who could not avail a plot to set up their shops during the annual trade fair, can now get a plot immediately by taking advantage of the on-spot booking facility.
According to sources, the first applicant can get the plot at the base-price if there will be no auctioneer for the land.
“All the preparations for Bali Yatra have reached final stage. All infrastructural development works like parking and activity places are now ready,” informed Cuttack collector, Bhabani Shankar Chayani.
The joy ride traders have started installing various joyrides on the riverbed of Mahanadi while ORMAS has started setting up its stalls at the venue.
Meanwhile, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has made arrangements for laser light show at Mahanadi River which is believed to be the centre of attraction during the nine-day long historic fair.
A Delhi-based company that has been assigned with the task to conduct the laser light show performed a trail run at Mahanadi river bed on Tuesday night.
The laser light show in Bali Yatra will display more than 10 videos on the rich history of Cuttack, five visits of Mahatma Gandhi to the city and ‘Bara Putras’ of Odisha.
