After RCB's loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad in playoff yesterday fans of the franchise are now demanding resignation from skipper Virat Kohli. Twitter flooded with messages expecting the RCB captain to resign and give some other player a chance to become captain.

Fans are also angry at the behavior of Kohli who is many times seen sledging his own teammates on the field.

Suddenly RCB fans are finding fault with both the captaincy and playing style of the Indian cricket team captain. One user wrote, "He isn't a good captain without Dhoni on the field, proved many times as #RCB captain. He isn't a run machine if the pitch is not for the batting 3 balls outside off stump, 4th ball out batsman. Unnecessary aggression every time they take a wicket. Sorry Kohli fans, it's a fact!"

Many even compared Virat Kohli's statistics with Rohit Sharma who is reportedly going to miss the Australian tour due to injury. However, his IPL team Mumbai Indians is once again in the finals.

Gautam Gambhir's Savage Analysis of Virat Kohli's Captaincy Adds Fuel to the Discussion

The RCB fans were quite upset about losing the match. However, their frustration against Virat escalated further after Gautam Gambhir's savage analysis of the RCB captain who has been leading the team for the last 8 years.

During an interview with ESPNcricinfo, the host asked Gautam Gambhir whether he would be changing the RCB captain given the chance. The Kolkata Knight Riders former captain said, "100%. Because the problem is about accountability. 8 years into the tournament is a long time. Tell me any other captain, forget about the captain. Tell me any other player who would have got 8 years, wouldn't have won the title and continued with it."

Gambhir further added, "So it has to be accountability. Someone has to, the captain needs to take accountability. And especially when you had a season when you won only 1 match in 2016. I do not have anything against Virat Kohli. But somewhere down the line, he needs to put up his hand and say, 'Yes I'm responsible, I'm accountable. 8 years is a long long time."

Gautam Gambhir gives an example of Ravichandran Ashwin. He says, "Look at what happened with Ravichandran Ashwin. 2 years of captaincy, he could not deliver and he was removed. There are so many. We talk about MS Dhoni, we talk about Rohit Sharma and we talk about Virat Kohli. MS Dhoni has won 3 titles, Rohit has won 4 titles. They are the captain for such a long time because they delivered."

Gambhir believes that there should not be different yardsticks for people when it comes to performance. It seems Gambhir said exactly what RCB fans were feeling. That is why many came out in support of Gambhir's opinion.
