Who Is Bollywood's King? Akshay Kumar With 4 Super Hits, 3 Hits In 2018-21

The show is back in Bollywood. The camera is again on the roll and so too the flashlight. Action dominating all the way after a long curtain down by the 'villain' of the world- Covid-19.

Post staying as the forbidden land, the movie theatres, and the Bollywood in general, who are gasping for a breath, fervently yearn for a 'Sultan' to rake the moolah. And, in the money-spinning thriller of Bollywood cinemascope show, Akshay Kumar was crowned the B-Town Badshah.

The Sooryavanshi enjoys the sunshine, despite growing a 3-week old. Neither Johny boy (Satyamev Jayate 2) nor the Sultan Khan (Antim - The Final Truth) has given the Akki baby (Akshay Kumar) a run for the money.

Box Office Show   

While in the box office, when John Abraham starred Satyamev Jayate 2 raked in around Rs 3.6 crore on its day 1 (Nov 25) and around Rs 2cr on Nov 26.

The Akki starred Sooryavanshi collections on Nov 25 was Rs 1.18 cr (the 21st-day post-release on Nov 5). The collections stood at Rs 0.71 cr on Nov 26 and on the first day of the weekend it grossed Rs 1.43 cr.

Between Nov 26 and 27, Sultan Khan's 50-minute starred flick Antim-The Final Truth had hit the screens. Salman Khan starrer Antim collected Rs 5 crore on the release day (Nov 26).

Khiladi In Odisha Screens

Akshay starred Sooryavanshi has mopped up Rs 2.35 crore in Odisha at the end of week 3. The film's nationwide collection has been Rs 187 cr. The super star's Mission Mangal had grossed Rs 3.13 cr in the State.

Toilet - Ek Prem Katha, the 2017 flick of Akki, that has been the 29th biggest grosser in Hindi Cinema, grossed Rs 1.17 cr in Odisha.

Sultan Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which has been the second biggest grosser in Bollywood, had mopped up collections to the tune of Rs 3.75 cr in Odisha.

In fact, Prabhas starrer Baahubali-2, which was the biggest national grosser of Indian cinema, did a brisk business in Odisha too. The film had mopped up collections of Rs 7.74 cr.

'Akki' Sultan?

When the fate of politicians are decided by the ballot box and people power, film actors' fate is tied to box office. The Bollywood Khiladi Akshay Kumar has been ringing success story in the box office.

The 54-year old Akki has been delivering a series of hits since the year 2019. From Kesari to Sooryavanshi, the hubby of Twinkle Khanna has delivered 3 super-hits and two hits.

Between 2018-21, the ace 'Mohra' of B-Town starred in as many as 9 films. Of which, 4 were super hits, 2 fared average and the rest were hits.

On the contrary, King Khan (SRK) had no films screened since 2018. The superstar has given only one hit since 2015.

Bollywood's Tiger Khan has no roaring hit to his credit since 2018. The Dabangg star had starred in 5 -films between 2018-21.     

The 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak'  Khan hasn't acted in any film since 2019. In the Bollywood Dangal, Aamir Khan had a blockbuster in 2016. Post Dangal, Khan starred in only 2 films - where the box-office verdict was 50:50. While Secret Superstar was a hit, Thugs Of Hindostan was a flop.

Among the titans, the star of Akki is shinning in the skyline of tinsel town. The box-office verdict crowns Akshay Kumar - the Sultan of Bollywood.  

Will 'Antim' Say Tiger Abhi Zinda Hai?

The Salman starred film 'Antim' is a low budget film. The budget is mere Rs 12 crore. As per trade pundits, If 'Antim', finally, manages to touch the magic figure of Rs 45-50 crore, then it will be declared a hit.

In contrast, Akki Kumar's Sooryavanshi budget is a whopping Rs 165cr. Since it has grossed Rs 187 crore, the box-office verdict has been a super hit. But will the Khiladi's Sooryavanshi touch the Rs 200 cr mark? The verdict will be out in the next 3-4 days. The Khatron Ke Khiladi has only two films in 200 cr Club to date.
