YRF Spy Universe: After War 2 and Alpha, John Abraham to return as Jim? Crossover with Hrithik Roshan's Kabir!

The excitement among cinephiles has elevated as the countdown for YRF Spy Universe's War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani, has officially begun. On Thursday, fresh posters of the trio were unveiled.

This time he’s ruthless, merciless, relentless and ready for WAR.

Amid this, fresh reports suggest that the makers are already gearing up for the next project under the Spy Universe after Alpha. Reportedly, YRF's next in the Spy Universe will be a spin-off of John Abraham's iconic character in the franchise, about which the Dhoom actor had dropped hints in February 2025.

John Abraham Returning as Jim!

According to the latest report by Bollywood Hungama, a reliable source close to YRF disclosed that the next project in Spy Universe will be a spin-off of John Abraham's Jim from Pathaan.

The source was quoted as saying, "Aditya Chopra and Sridhar Raghavan have cracked a solid story for Jim's spin-off, which will play a key role in defining the reason for his negative angst in the film. They narrated the film to John Abraham, and the actor is all charged to take on the challenge of playing Jim again."

Further, the source added, "Jim will be a prequel to Pathaan, and will be packaged with cameos from all films of the Spy Universe, as the backstory of Jim shows him as one of the best agents from Indian Intelligence Agencies."

The source also claimed that if everything goes as planned, the movie will take off in 2026 with a release target in 2027.

Hrithik Roshan aka Kabir's Crossover With Jim?

Earlier in February, during an interview with Hollywood Reporter India, John Abraham dropped a hint on the possibilities of a prequel to Pathaan, which will focus on Jim. Talking about the possibility of a solo movie focused on his character Jim, John said that Aditya Chopra gets him right and hopefully they would be doing a prequel centred around Jim.

Even Pathaan helmer Siddharth Anand, during an interview with Pinkvilla, said that Jim's character does warrant a prequel. He also dropped a subtle hint about Jim's crossover with Hrithik Roshan's Kabir as it is a Universe and anything can be done with the characters.

However, fans have to wait for an official confirmation from the makers. Undeniably, if things materialise as per plans, it will be thrilling to watch Jim's crossover with Major Kabir.
