Pathaan

Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham’s Pathaan is one of the biggest Bollywood hits of all time. Action scenes designed using VFX technology played a major role in the huge success of this film apart from the old charm of SRK. Recently Yash Raj Films released the VFX breakdown of Pathaan which shocked many fans of the movie. There have been many invisible effects that have been used to create some of the biggest action scenes in Pathaan.

The YRF video reveals that the scene in which Dimple Kapadia is shown exiting a private jet was not shot near any plane or on the location. Rather it was shot completely on a soundstage. To make the shot look realistic, the actress walked down a ramp with a green background. The overall impact was achieved by fixing the pieces using intense VFX technology.

The three-and-a-half-minute video also breaks down the chase sequence of Dubai, Salman Khan ’s grand entry as Tiger, Shah Rukh Khan, and John Abraham’s flying around the jet packs, and the climactic action scene of the film. Fans were surprised to see that the Dubai chase scene was fixed with VFX whereas the lake scene which they thought to be completed with VFX was indeed real.

The video also broke down how the director Sidharth Anand and his team used VFX to combine visual effects with real location photography for creating the scene of a frozen lake. From using digital makeup on veteran actress Dimple to using digital double for Shah Rukh Khan at a few places, the makers have used some solid creative ideas and high-end technology to come up with some fantastic, realistic effects in Pathaan.
