  • KGF 2 and Pushpa 1 teams are eyeing the pan India release.
  • With big movies releasing around the same time will they be able to achieve the expected level of success?

Yash’s KGF Chapter 2 and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise are two of the biggest Southern releases scheduled to hit the theaters soon. While the second installment of KGF has received a big hype post the success of the first movie from this franchise, the stardom of Allu Arjun in the South and his pairing with Rashmika Mandanna are the USP’s of Pushpa 1.

But there are a few things that may affect the success of these two movies; at least there is a possibility that they may not be able to reach the super level of success that currently is being expected.

What Can Work for KGF 2 and Pushpa 1?

Since Yash’s Rockbhai character received pan-Indian popularity, the initial response to KGF2 is expected to be good. Also, this Prashanth Neel-helmed flick has two Bollywood actors –Raveena Tandon and Sanjay Dutt playing crucial roles. Sanju Baba’s Adheera has already received a lot of appreciation. So Bollywood moviegoers may watch it for Rockybhai and more for Raveena and Sanjay Dutt.

In the case of Pushpa: The Rise, Southern queen Rashmika Mandanna is sharing the screen for the first time with Bunny. The songs, look of both the stars from the film have already made a good impact on the minds of movie fans. The promotions for both KGF 2 and Pushpa 1 have been creative and aggressive and have garnered the expected response. Characters of all the lead actors in these movies have been established and hence fans will be eager to see Adheera battle Rockybhai and Rashoo romance Bunny on the big screen.

What Can Go Wrong?

Yash’s KGF 2 is releasing in April 2022 when many other big Bollywood films will be hitting the theaters. From Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan, Aamir Khan’s Lal Sing Chaddha to Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya and Kangana Ranaut’s Dhaakad, KGF 2 team will have to fight a big battle at the box-office to gain the pan India success that it is currently eyeing.

Ditto with Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise which is all set to release this December on 17th! Ranveer Singh’s 83 and Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey are also releasing with a gap of just one week during Christmas and New Year Eve. So in that case, Bunny’s movie may become successful in the Southern region but its pan India success will be definitely affected by the release of two big Bollywood movies around the same time.
