Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is creating a lot of buzz. Be it its much-awaited official announcement or lineup of star cast, this first mythological movie of Ranbir Kapoor has already created a huge hype and triggered interest among the audience. After reports claimed that telly actor, director, and producer Ravie Dubey will be essaying the role of Lakshman in Ramayana, now reports are abuzz that wink girl Priya Varrier has been roped in to play the role of his wife Urmila in the movie.

Although she won’t be getting much screen space as the character of Urmila has a very small presence in Ramayana the actress is looking forward to doing this role since the movie is a pan-India project with multiple big stars being roped in to play important roles. For the first time, big Southern stars like Yash and Sai Pallavi are coming together with big Bollywood stars.

In the last few weeks, there have been speculations that Nitesh Tiwari and his team will be making a huge announcement on Ram Navami in April. However, there have not been any such updates from the production team or the director. Albeit, pictures of the Dangal director starting the shooting of Ramayana after a pooja have now surfaced online which has indirectly confirmed that all the buzz around Ramayana is indeed true.

Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi , and Yash playing Ram, Sita, and Ravana respectively, reports indicate that actresses like Lara Dutta and Rakul Preet Singh will be portraying the negative characters of Kaikeyi and Shurpankha respectively. Arun Govil who became a household name as Lord Ram in Doordarshan’s serial Ramayan will be playing King Dashratha in this movie. Other names like Sunny Deol have been finalised for the role of Lord Hanuman.

As of now most of these are just speculations that will be confirmed only after Nitesh Tiwari makes an official announcement regarding Ramayana.
