Among the accused is social media influencer Sapna Gill with 2, 19,000 followers on Instagram. Apart from being a social media influencer, she has also acted in a couple of Bhojpuri films with stars like Ravi Kishan and Dinesh Lal Yadav.
Hailing from Chandigarh, Sapna has starred in movies such as Kashi Amarnath, Nirhua Chalal London and Mera Watan.
She resides in Mumbai and uploads contents from entertainment, dance videos to fashion photos on Instagram. However, her alleged forceful attempt to get a selfie and extortion bid has landed the actress behind bars.
Sapna has been arrested by Mumbai police after Prithvi lodged a written complaint in this connection.
According to the complaint, the fight began at a luxury hotel near Mumbai Airport after two fans – Sapna Gill and Shobhit Thakur – approached the cricketer for selfies. After a few pictures, when they refused to back off and demanded more, Shaw called his friend and the manager of the hotel to have the fans removed.
After being kicked out, the fans waited outside for Prithvi and along with a few others armed with baseball bats, mobbed Shaw, the complaint added.
When Prithvi and his friend drove off from the hotel, they chased his car, intercepted it at a traffic signal near Oshiwara and broke the windshield. They also demanded Rs 50,000, threatening to file a fake police case.
However, Sapna and her friend have refuted the allegations.
