2018's Hindi movie Sanju, based on Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt's life and struggles emerged as a blockbuster and the second-highest-grossing Indian film of the year. Helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, the biographical film notably focused on Dutt's drug addiction, arrest for his suspected association with the 1993 Bombay bombings, acting career and his relationship with his parents. Superstar Ranbir Kapoor played the titular character and nailed it. RK stepped into the shoes of Sanju and with his stellar performance as Sanjay Dutt, the Saawariya actor earned praises. He seamlessly pulled off Sanju Baba's character in the movie.

When Ranbir was gearing up for Sanju's release, he revealed that since childhood he was obsessed with the Bollywood icon. As a fanboy, he called playing the lead in Sanju is a big moment in his life. Ranbir has also shared that Dutt used to troll him for his physique and also advised him to have kids after he married Alia Bhatt.

Recently, an old video of Sanjay Dutt surfaced on social media that shows a 14-year-old Ranbir Kapoor meeting his idol. A young Ranbir shared his fanboy moment with Sanju and the Khalnayak hugged him.

Notably, apart from featuring together in Sanju for a song, Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor worked in Shamshera. Hopefully, the duo will unite again for more movies in future.
