It is a known fact that Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh had a very bitter separation and divorce and their children Sara and Ibrahim Ali Khan stayed with their mom and were raised by her. Sara Ali Khan is a highly educated actress who studied political science and history at Columbia University in New York, USA and hence was expected to pursue it as a career.

But instead, she decided to come back to Mumbai and try her destiny in Bollywood. It seems Saif Ali Khan was not in favour of Sara Ali Khan joining the industry that had given him recognition. Apart from Saif and Amrita, Saif’s mother Sharmila Tagore was also one of the biggest actresses during the 60s and 70s and his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan has been a highly successful Bollywood star. But even then Saif did not want his daughter to join the movies and during an interview, he made his displeasure quite obvious.

When asked to discuss his opinion of Sara joining the film industry the concerned father said, “A little nervous. Fear is the most driving factor in the industry. Why would she want that for herself? Look at where she studied. After having done that, why wouldn’t she want to live and work in New York, rather than do this? I am not looking down on acting, it’s just it is not the most stable profession. And everyone lives in constant fear. And there is no guarantee that despite doing your best, you will succeed. This is not the life, any parent would want for their children.”

Sara Ali Khan debuted with Kedarnath alongside Sushant Singh Rajput. And somehow just as Saif Ali Khan feared the journey of Sara in Bollywood has been quite tough because even after more than 5 years in the industry she has yet to deliver a very big blockbuster that can bring her into the line of superstars like Alia Bhatt or Deepika Padukone.

Her last theatrical release Zara Hatke Zara Bachke did a decent business however she received a lot of backlash for her acting in Ae Watan Mere Watan.
