  • Vijayendra Prasad, father of Rajamouli, wanted his son to direct Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
  • Rajamouli turned down the offer because he was busy shooting war sequences.
  • It left Salman Khan a bit upset who felt that the RRR director was not interested in working with him.

SS Rajamouli is currently busy completing the last leg of the shooting of his ambitious movie project RRR with NTR Jr, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in the lead. The Baahubali director had once opened up about his wish to work with the Dabangg star Salman Khan, but when destiny actually offered him a chance to helm a Sallu Bhai starrer, Rajamouli turned down the offer.

Recently, during an interaction, father of Rajamouli shared an interesting incident that threw light on why his son and famous director refused to work on a project with the superstar of Bollywood.

According to Vijayendra Prasad, who is an eminent writer, he wanted Rajamouli to direct Bajrangi Bhaijaan, a movie that starred Salman and Kareena Kapoor in the lead. Vijayendra had penned the story of this flick and thought that his son would be the right person to direct it. Surprisingly, Rajamouli turned down the offer because at that time he was directing some important war sequences and was completely focused on his work.

That is why Rajamouli was not in a position to take up new work and turned down the Bajrangi Bhaijaan offer. Vijayendra even said that he chose the wrong time for narrating the story to his son and that if he had chosen an appropriate time for the narration, maybe Rajamouli would have said yes to direct Bajrangi Bhaijan.

Later on, Kabir Khan came on the board and as is known, the movie was a big hit. But this refusal from Rajamouli left Salman Khan a bit upset who said that while he very much wants to work with the famous director, Rajamouli does not seem to be interested in working with him. Later on, the RRR director even lamented the fact that he should have given the offer some time and maybe things would have worked out well.
