Gauahar Khan, who is one of the best-looking actresses in the entertainment industry, recently revealed that the she got rejected for the ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ because of her good looks.

In an interview with Film Companion, the 38-year-old actress claimed that the biggest project that she lost out in her life was ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ because she was ‘too good-looking’. 

During the interview, Gauahar said that she had appeared for five rounds of auditions for the film, but director Danny Boyle couldn’t picture her as someone from the slums with her face. 

The Hollywood director reportedly told her that she is a fantastic actor but he is not sure if she was trained in India as, according to him, she spoke like non-Indian. 

The 'Steve Jobs' director told her that he can’t place her in a Slumdog Millionaire with the face she has because he has to match three age groups, the actress said.

Gauahar, who is known for her straight forwardness, also claimed that she has so far lost out on several roles because she’s too ‘good-looking’.

However, the actress, who has established a space for herself with films such as ‘Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year’, ‘Begum Jaan’, said that she does not have any regrets about it as she met the English director and he thought she was a great actor. 

Danny Boyle directorial Slumdog Millionaire became a blockbuster hit at the box office and won the Oscar for Best Picture in 2009.
