That was the time when Shilpa was keen to make a good career in Bollywood whereas Akshay Kumar had already become hugely successful and wanted to marry and settle in Canada. Even Akshay’s mother Aruna Bhatia was keen to have Shilpa as a daughter-in-law.

Shilpa did not want to migrate to Canada

The Mission Mangal actor proposed to Shilpa but the actress said that she would like to wait since she did not want to settle in Canada at that time. This triggered a sour phase in their relationship. During the same period he went abroad to shoot for a movie with Twinkle Khanna. Since his affair with Shilpa was going through a rough patch, he came close to Twinkle and that is where he made a mistake.
