Parva by SL Bhyrappa
Vivek Agnihotri surprised everyone by announcing that he is making a movie based on Mahabharata in three parts. It was widely assumed that RRR director SS Rajamouli is planning to come out with a film franchise based on the famous Indian mythological epic. But it seems The Kashmir Files director will be the first to bring the story live on the big screen.
Vivek’s adaptation of Mahabharata is based on the modern classic written by Padma Bhushan SL Bhyrappa “Parva-An Epic Tale of Dharma.” The three movies from the franchise will be produced under the banner of “I am Buddha” owned by Vivek’s wife and actor Pallavi Joshi. This book is called the masterpiece of masterpieces and hence it will be quite exciting to watch a celluloid take on such a celebrated book.

While a few X users were elated with this announcement most of the netizens wondered who will be bankrolling such a huge project as it is going to require a whooping budget. Many think that Vivek Agnihotri is not the right person to direct a movie on a topic like Mahabharata and instead directors like Rajamouli, Mani Ratnam, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, or Ayan Mukerji should have been roped in to direct it.
