Vijay Sethupathi once again has proved that he is one of the most dynamic and versatile actors in Indian cinema. His latest release Merry Christmas in which the Vikram Vedha actor plays the male lead opposite Katrina Kaif has received incredible reviews from critics with almost everyone admiring the acting skills of the South Indian star.
Interestingly, despite being one of the most sought-after actors of the last few years Vijay Sethupathi seems to lead a very humble and simple life. He is always spotted wearing simple clothes and at times even chappals at events and promotions. Naturally, his fans are very much impressed with his demeanour and many call him an actor with a simple lifestyle.
However, Vijay dispelled all these assumptions during a press conference when a female fan said to him that she was very much impressed by his simplicity. Addressing his fans, the actor said, “Nahi nahi sab log aise hi bolte hai. It is nothing like that. This is very comfortable. Main pahen sakta toh coat aur blazer pahen ke aa jata. Yeh mere ko comfortable lagta hai. Yeh simplicity nahi hai. These are very expensive (clothes).”
The actor added, “So it’s been like people have been looking at me and they have been telling me that I am very simple. No, aisa kuch nahi hai. Mein drama bhi nahi karta hoon. Sach mein yeh comfortable hai isliya pehenta hoon. If I can wear blazers and a James Bond coat I will wear that. But it is not comfortable.”

He signed off saying, “I don’t want these labels on me please.” Now that is such an honest reply which is not expected from a leading actor. More often, celebs are interested in flaunting their rich lifestyle and designer-wear clothes. But Vijay Sethupathi just loves to stay grounded and honest and accepts that despite looking simple, his clothes are expensive but he wears them because they are comfortable.
