Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday starrer Liger mark the debut of the South actor in Bollywood. Produced under the Dharma Productions banner, bankrolled by Karan Johar and helmed by ace director Puri Jagannadh Liger is a much-hyped movie. 

In the latest development, the makers have announced a big update from the movie. Producer and director Karan Johar today (September 27) announced: "For the first time ever, the king of the ring will be seen on the big screens of Indian cinema! Welcoming @MikeTyson to the #LIGER team!"

Along with his announcement, he attached a video that featured the announcement: "We are proud to announce, for the first time on Indian screens. The man who created history, unbeatable icon, one and only legend, The great Mike Tyson is on board for our prestigious project."

Meanwhile, Vijay also took to social media to express his excitement. He wrote: We promised you Madness! We are just getting started :) For the first time on Indian Screens. Joining our mass spectacle - #LIGER The Baddest Man on the Planet. The God of Boxing. The Legend, the Beast, the Greatest of all Time! IRON MIKE TYSON

Michael Gerard Tyson or Mike Tyson is known for his ferocious as well as intimidating boxing style. Tyson is also infamous for his controversial behaviour inside and outside the ring. However, with a knockout-to-win per cent of 88%, Tyson was ranked 16th on The Ring magazine's list of 100 greatest punchers of all time.

As announced earlier, the story of Liger will revolve around the life of an MMA fighter. As featured in his first look, Vijay has undergone a huge transformation to fit into his character of a fighter. Apart from that, he also grew beard and long hair to portray the look which is generally sported by fighters. As per the buzz, Vijay will be playing the character of Liger who has a speech disability. However, there is no confirmation about the same.
