Prabhas’ ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is doing wonders at the box office. The futuristic sci-fi film has literally set the box office on fire with over Rs 500 crore collection worldwide in just four days of its release. While director Nag Ashwin is getting rave reviews from both audiences and critics alike, actors Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Prabhas are also being loved by people.

However, it was ‘Arjun Reddy’ fame actor Vijay Deverakonda who is hogging all the limelight after his cameo as the greatest warrior Arjuna of Mahabharat. The Telugu heartthrob had an epic cameo in the film.

Playing the role of Arjuna, Vijay appears on the battlefield to fight Amitabh Bachchan who plays Ashwatthama. His short cameo has fans showering love for him. Impressed with his role, many netizens noted that it was time Vijay took up a period drama role.

Amid these praises, reports are doing the rounds about the fees Vijay Deverakonda charged for Kalki. However, not many know that it was Vijay Deverakonda who introduced director Nag Ashwin to the film industry.

Vijay first worked with Nag Ashwin in his directorial debut film ‘Yevade Subramanyam’ also starring the Natural Star Nani. The film went on to become a cult classic over time and catapulted Nani to stardom.

As Vijay and Nag shared a good camaraderie, the ‘Geetha Govindam’ actor did the cameo for free and did not charge a penny However, Vijay may reprise his role as Arjuna in the second part and might charge a boom if he gets a full-fledged role in the sequel.

Apart from Vijay, actors like Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, Ram Gopal Varma, SS Rajamouli, and Faria Abdullah had brief cameos in Kalki 2898 AD.
