Viacom18 Studios announces 7 movies and 6 web series; check out the line-up

India’s first motion and content production house based on a studio model - Viacom18 Studios has released its list of projects this year, including 7 movies and web series. A few of these movies are big-budget projects starring superstars of Bollywood.

Viacom18’s movie releases

The first big-budget movie backed by the production house is Hrithik Roshan , Anil Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s Fighter directed by Siddharth Anand. Fighter is a much-awaited film made on a budget of 300 crores plus as Deepika and Hrithik are sharing the screen for the first time. Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani starring Alia Bhatt Ranveer Singh, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, and Dharmendra is another star-studded movie from Viacom18 Studios.

Other movies on the list are Pankaj Tripathi, Akshay Kumar, and Yami Gautam’s Oh My God 2, Dhak Dhak starring Sanjana Sanghi, Dia Mirza, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Fatima Sana Shaikh, Shastry vs Shastry starring Manoj Joshi, Mimi Chakraborty, and Paresh Rawal in the lead, Single Salma featuring Shreyas Talpade, Sunny Singh and Huma Qureshi and Suspect featuring Nana Patekar and Meezaaan Jaffrey in the lead.

OTT releases-from crime thrillers to reality check

Gaanth Chapter 1: Jamna Paar with Monika Panwar and Manav Vij in the lead is a crime thriller series that will soon hit Voot- the OTT platform of Viacom. Kaalkoot is an investigative drama series starring Sweta Tripathi and Vijay Varma. Other web series from Viacom18 Studios include Boots Belts and Berets inspired by the life of an army cadet, Mahim which has been adapted from the murder mystery novel by Jerry Pinto titled Murder In Mahim, Cheeku starring Prakash Raj and based on the life of a 21-year-old boy from the Tamil Brahmin Iyer family in Mumbai and Transition – a reality series showcasing the life of trans woman.

All these web series are based on different and a few even untouched topics and that is why they are sure to create an impact on the minds of the viewers.
