‘House Arrest’ host Ajaz Khan

ULLU’s latest show House Arrest has landed in a major controversy after its recent episode drew widespread backlash for allegedly promoting obscenity and vulgarity.

Hosted by actor Ajaz Khan, the show has become the target of severe criticism on social media, with viewers demanding a ban and legal action.

Controversial Content Goes Viral

The backlash began after clips from a recent episode surfaced online. In one segment, the host Ajaz Khan quizzes a contestant about sexual positions. When she hesitates, two other contestants are asked to physically demonstrate the positions for her. Another widely shared clip shows female participants removing their undergarments under their clothes on camera, while the host and others cheer and clap.

Viewers have called these scenes "disturbing," "degrading," and "deeply inappropriate," prompting many to question how such content is permitted on Indian OTT platforms. Several users tagged Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, urging immediate action and stronger censorship of online content.

Social Media Demands Ban

One user wrote: “This show is not only disgusting but beyond the definition of vulgar. The host Ajaz Khan is crossing boundaries. It's the cheapest copy of Bigg Boss.” Another questioned the silence of the ministry, stating: “They talk about on-camera sex positions... The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting sleeps with its eyes closed.”

The controversy has also sparked political reaction, coming soon after the Centre expressed concern over growing obscenity on digital platforms.

Legal Action Initiated

On Thursday, Advocate Vineet Jindal filed an official complaint with the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the Delhi Police against House Arrest. Calling the content “highly objectionable” and a “blatant violation of Indian cultural standards,” Jindal demanded strict punitive measures against the creators, actors, and platform.
