The Tarang Cine Productions' Tarang Cine Flix conclave got off to a colourful start on Saturday. The two-day conclave is being organised in Bhubaneswar to celebrate the journey of regional cinema.

As many as 10 regional movies including Daman (Odia), Nayattu (Malayalam), Dada Laxmi (Harriyanvi) among others will be screened.

Actor Manoj Mishra said, “I am really grateful to Tarang for providing the platform to interact with eminent personalities to learn and know more. Though we have immense talent here, we will know the real issues which are holding us back.”

Odisha Television Network, Creative Head, Ranjan Satapathy said, “Regional cinemas are no longer confined to a particular region. Be it Kantara or cinemas in other regional languages have already crossed boundaries and earned recognition. We are trying to provide a platform to young generation filmmakers so that the movies get due recognition at the national and international stages."

A student said, “The youngsters are no longer interested to watch violence, rather they want to know more about art and other aspects. We hope to gain a lot and interact with eminent personalities.”

Director Ashok Pati said, “I am hopeful that the conclave will immensely benefit the filmmakers from Odisha and the fans here. We can get a lot of information from Google but knowledge comes from experience and hence meeting and interacting with great personalities will certainly have a positive impact on our industry.”

According to Pati, the Tarang Cine Flix conclave will help to grow and learn a lot and come up with commercial as well as realistic movies.

Ollywood actor Sabyasachi Mishra said, "Tarang Cine Flix is a good step with the changing times to create an environment where we can meet and interact with legendary filmmakers who have taken regional cinemas to a new level."

According to Sabyasachi, there was a time when the cinema halls were packed during the release of movies. We are hopeful for a massive change as today's time is all about content.

Actress Archita Sahu and brand ambassador of Tarang said, “Regional cinema is no longer confined to a particular boundary. I am hopeful that some doors will open after interactions with creative heads of regional cinemas. We see the south industry and its glamour but they might be having their own challenges as well.”

Archita further said more emphasis is now being given to audiences' choices and demands in cinemas these days.
“There will be issues and challenges in any industry and after OTT platforms several are getting new opportunities," the actress added.

Apart from screening of regional movies, the conclave will also see discussions and deliberations by prominent cine personalities including Amol Palekar, Sandhya Gokhale, Hansal Mehta, Babusan Mohanty, Himanshu Khatua and Sabyasachi Mishra on a wide-range of topics.

Tarang Cine Productions is the flagship production house of Odisha Television Networks (OTN).
