Actor-turned-writer Twinkle Khanna turned 48 on December 29. Being the daughter of Indian cine icons Dimple Kapadia and Rajesh Khanna, she has always undervalued her acting career. Not just Twinkle, but her children also made fun of her acting.

Here we bring an incident when Twinkle recalled such an embarrassing incident during an interview in 2015.

Apart from leaving her footprints in Bollywood as an actress, she has earned fame as an author. She was the highest-selling female author of the year in 2015. Following the success of her first book "Mrs. Funnybones" which sold over one million copies, she recalled the incident during an interview.

During the interview with Mid-Day, Twinkle devalued her acting talents. Further, she revealed that her son made fun of her films.

“I don’t let my children watch my movies. And my son is an a**. There’s a scene in Jaan, and he’s going around… I can’t say this. He keeps replaying this clip, where I’m kissing some man’s nipple. And they made a collage of this for my birthday. It’s sick!” Twinkle was quoted as saying.

Further, she continued, “I don’t think my family’s being very supportive about this ‘great’ career.”

Even though she was a prominent face in Bollywood in the 90s, she ‘didn’t enjoy it’.

She said, “There’s a difference between a job and a career. I didn’t enjoy it. All I wanted to do was go back home and read books. There were times when I was sitting and knitting on set, and my spot boy would come and say, ‘Aap mat kariye, sab aunty ji bolenge’. I had to live up to this image, but I wasn’t that person.”

Notably, Twinkle made her acting debut in 1995’s Barsaat opposite Bobby Deol. She also has worked in several movies including Mela, Itihaas, Baadshah, International Khiladi, Zulmi, etc.

Twinkle and her husband, actor Akshay Kumar, have two children Nitara (daughter) and Aarav (son).

Earlier today, she shared a set of pictures from her birthday celebrations, on social media.
