Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham starrer Pathaan remained one of the highly anticipated movies till a week back. But the release of the first song ‘Besharam Rang’ has invited huge trouble for the SRK-starrer due to its ‘vulgar’ and ‘obscene’ contents.

Following the boycott calls for Pathaan on social media, Madhya Pradesh home minister Narottam Mishra on Wednesday threatened to block the release of the movie if the makers didn’t opt to rectify Deepika’s outfit and certain other scenes. And now, a Muslim community has raised objections and warned the makers over Pathaan’s release.

Madhya Pradesh Ulema Board’s president, Syed Anas Ali, while speaking to ANI, said, “The sentiments of the Muslim community have been hurt by this film. We will not allow this film to be released, not just in Madhya Pradesh but across the country.”

Further, he went on to add, “The Pathans are one of the most respectable Muslim communities. Not just the Pathans, but the entire Muslim community is being defamed in this film. The name of the film is Pathaan and women are seen performing obscene dances in it. Pathans are being portrayed wrongly in the film.”

Moreover, Ali also said that they have decided to write to the censor board regarding the matter and will do everything in their power to stop the release of the movie. “The makers should remove the name, Pathaan. Shahrukh Khan should change the name of his character. After that, do whatever you want. But we will not allow this film to be released in India. We will fight a legal battle and also file an FIR,” he said.

Pathaan, scheduled to release on January 25, 2023, elevated the excitement with its teaser release. Movie lovers had high expectations from Pathaan as it would mark the comeback of SRK after a gap of 4 years. However, the current scenario explains the triggering outrage among moviegoers for the obscenity presented in the song featuring SRK and Deepika.
