The official trailer of Tarang Plus web series, Raktatirtha was released on Sunday.

Produced by Tarang Cine Productions, Raktatirtha is an attempt to bring back the chilling memories of Eram massacre which took place on September 28, 1942, at Eram in Odisha's Bhadrak district.

The engrossing trailer opens with people raising slogans of ‘Vande Mataram’ against the British officers and moves on to depict the Odia revolutionaries promising to never surrender in front of the British.

The web series is set for a Republic Day release on Tarang Plus, the OTT platform of Tarang TV.

Eram, which is known as the Raktatirtha (a place of pilgrimage tinged with the blood of martyrs) is a glorious chapter in the Indian freedom movement. The Imperial police had opened fire on a gathering of freedom fighters at this place on September 28, 1942, while peacefully protesting the foreign rule in Odisha. As many as 29 freedom fighters fell to the police bullets while 56 more were wounded in one of the worst ever massacres perpetrated by the British occupation.

Eram is also known as the second Jallianwala Bagh of India, where more than 300 innocent Indians died after General O’ Dwyer ordered to open fire at them in 1919.

The web series features Abhishek Giri, Cookies Swain, Manoj Patnaik, Pradeep Kumar Sahoo, Prithviraj Nayak, Prasanjeet Mahapatra, Hara Rath, Shasha Alexander and Anjana Dash in pivotal roles.

Till now, the trailer has managed to garner more than 4500 views in just four hours of its release on Youtube.
