Madhubala and Premnath
While everyone is well aware of the longstanding affair between Madhubala and Dilip Kumar, very few people know that she was involved with Dharmatma fame actor Premnath before that.
Both of them had worked in movies like Badal and Aaram and were in a relationship. There are different opinions as to why the two decided to part ways. According to Madhubala’s sister Madhur Bhushan, the two parted ways because Premnath was a Hindu while her sister was Muslim and at that time, Hindu-Muslim marriages were looked down upon. That is why their father was against this marriage and hence, Madhubala had to break her ties with the Barsaat actor.
Another version says that Madhubala fell in love with Dilip Kumar when she was dating Premnath. Both Dilip Kumar and Premnath were good friends and so when the former came to know about it, he decided to step back.

The love story of Madhubala and Yusuf Saab is considered an epic one similar to that of Dev Anand and Suraiyaa that could not reach the altar. Both were in a relationship for almost nine years and loved each other dearly. But during the filming of B.R. Chopra’s Naya Daur, Madhubala’s father stopped her from participating in shooting at a particular location due to which the producer had to bear huge losses and he filed a case against the Bollywood superstar.
Even though Madhubala and Dilip Kumar were in relationship at that time, the latter supported the movie producer in the court and from then on there was a rift between the two and eventually, it ended in their breakup.

Madhu and Kishore worked in a few films together like Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, Half Ticket, and Jhumroo, and fans loved their pairing. Kishore was already married and divorced with a child when he married Madhubala. At that time, while the actress was ailing due to heart issues, the career of Kishore Kumar had started gaining momentum and he was very busy singing at recordings and concerts. He could hardly spare time for Madhubala who was in her deathbed.
