Suriya starrer Soorarai Pottru has added another massive achievement to its long list of accolades. The Tamil movie that was released on OTT last year is now the world’s third most rated film in the world on IMDb following ‘Shawshank Redemption’ and ‘Godfather’ closely.
Soorarai Pottru has featured in the IMDb Top 1000 movies based on the ratings. With a score of 9.1, the film is on the third spot after Hollywood classics Shawshank Redemption and Godfather. This is not the first time the movie has put itself on the global map. The action drama was the only Indian film among 366 films that was eligible for a Best Picture nomination at Oscars 2021. Recently, the film also got selected to the prestigious Shanghai Film Festival. The film was screened under the Best Foreign Film category at the 78th Golden Globe Awards as well.
